Q & A W/ Matthew
Why? Why copywriting? Why boutiques?
Buckle in….rant time. Taylor and I have owned boutiques for years. We love the industry, the friends we’ve met along the way, playing dress up, all of it. However, we have friends that got into the industry hoping it was just getting to play dress up all day and make money while doing it. Unfortunately, that’s rarely how it works. It might be a fun business, but it’s a real business and it deserves to be treated like one. I have personally worked with small business owners in marketing, advertising, branding, etc for a long time. I’m passionate about it because when you can help someone’s small business, you don’t just help a business. You free up time for them to focus on their relationships, they can take breaks and enjoy time with family. Maybe they take a trip they always wanted or just have the extra personal funds to help out a family member. Not only personally, but your employees? The amount of meaningful conversations you get to have that helps them develop into the men and women that the world needs is so amazingly special. Being able to go through all the hard lessons business owners have to learn, and then be able to pass it along for free to a young employee is something that we all wish we had more of when we were young. Small business owners are the most amazing people on the planet and getting to help them develop into community leaders, world changers, whatever they want to be…Why would we want to be anywhere else?
What makes the Fashion Narrative different from other copywriting companies?
First and foremost, Taylor and I spent years running boutiques. We had 2 brick & mortars in 2 different states. We’ve gone to the markets, we have had products that sell great and don’t. We have networked with other boutique owners, we are part of the boutique community. So first and foremost…us. We are what’s different. Most copywriters are copywriters. Not experts in a specific niche. But to answer it in a more functional way…we are different because of our proven Fashion Narrative Process. We combined our knowledge of the industry with the latest and greatest technologies and softwares. Not because we are lazy but….because we aren’t perfect. We can only be so creative. The same is true for all creatives and writers. We all have a finite capacity. We mitigate that by asking the softwares to do some of the heavy lifting. They optimize the descriptions for SEO as well as helping us stay fresh and creative for EVERY product description. This is the best way to duplicate high quality, original descriptions that can match every tone, style, and audience in the boutique industry.
You probably just use Chatgpt or something, right?
Have you tried that? Because it doesn’t quite work like that without some training. Chatgpt made AI tools cool. However, there are a number of different softwares that we use. Most of which have monthly costs to access them. No single tool does everything perfectly, so we use a number of specific softwares to craft the best descriptions for your boutique and audience. Lastly, there is a lot more to using the tools than saying “describe a black dress”. You have to know which levers to pull to make the machine spit out the right answer. And getting them to sound good, have ALL the necessary info, AND be optimized for SEO… We are professionals in this industry for a reason and we would put our descriptions up against anyone’s. We call it The Fashion Narrative Proven Process for a reason.
I’d love to work with you, but it’s kinda expensive.
I agree. We understand that it’s not for everyone. When we started our online boutique, it was just Taylor and I. There was no way we could pay someone to write our descriptions for us. However, after we got the hang of running the online store, we would have paid twice what The Fashion Narrative charges. It’s not hyperbole. Taylor is an amazing professional business owner. She has helped so many ladies inside and outside of the boutique world. She had to start prioritizing where she spent her time. Product descriptions are arguably the lifeblood of an online business, why would a business owner ever cut corners there unless they absolutely had to?
On a final note, if you are really struggling with the price, we understand. Whether you end up working with us or not, we love you. Consider yourself SO lucky, blessed, fortunate, etc. that you get to even consider something like this. You used to have a dream of owning a boutique, and look at you now! You’re looking to take your business to the next level because good just isn’t good enough. You want more. We love the kind of person you are. (Even if we don’t get to work together.)
